History Its in Honour of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji who spent six month 19 days in Mandi on the invitation of its ruler Siddh Sen. While Guruji Pitched his Camp outside the town, the ladies of his household were accommodated in the Ruler's palace. Two shrines were established here, one inside the palace and the other at the site of the Guruji's camp. The inner shrine is maintained by the erstwhile ruling family. The other one near the bank of the River Beas is called Gurdwara Padal Sahib. It was endowed with a land grant by Sardar Lahina Singh Majithia, governor of this region under Maharaja Ranjit Singh ji. Its building was reconstructed by Sardar Dina Nath, chief secretary of Mandi State, in 1926 . Guru Gobind Singh ji spent six month 19 days as Royal guest of Raja Sidh Sen in Mandi. One day the King of Mandi Raj Sidh Sen came to Guruji and said that Guruji, you are leaving Mandi and after that who will save us from Aurangjeb's cruelty . At that time Guruji aimed at a clay pitcher(mitti ki handi) in the Beas River & Guruji fired on that pitcher and that pitcher got only a hole in it, and it was floating in the river like before. Then Guruji said "JAISE BACHI YE HANDI VAISE BACHEGI TERI MANDI JO MANDI KO LUTENGE AASMANI GOLE CHUTENGE " There are five monuments related to Guru Gobind Singh ji (1) THE HOLY BED (2) THE HOLY RABAB (3) THE HOLY GUN (4) THE HOLY BAROOD GUN KUPPY (5) THE HOLY TALAI (MATRESS) There is also an historic holy Rock in the middle of Beas river where Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji Prays daily during there stay in Mandi Riyasat.
